After 9 months of pregnancy new moms deserve to be spending time snuggling their new addition, not feeling the after effects of birth. Let us help with that. Our herbal sitz bath is great for postpartum healing. Organic comfrey, calendula, lavender, chamomile, plantain, and yarrow have been used for centuries for their calming, antimicrobial, and healing properties. Don't worry about extensive prep time either, if you can make a cup of tea, you can make this sitz bath.
WHAT DO I GET Besides quicker healing and pain relief you ask? • 8 oz tin (2 net oz.) filled full of healing herbs • Optional add on of a reusable muslin tea bag
HOW TO USE New moms can soak in an herbal bath as soon as they are healthy and ready after a vaginal birth. Sometimes this can be as soon as an hour after birth. Baths can be taken daily or even twice daily to promote healing. Baby can bathe with mama as the herbs help promote drying and easy healing of the umbilical cord.
HOW TO PREPARE YOUR BATH Herbal Tea/Infusion: Place a bag into a mason jar, or other heatproof container preferably with a lid that can be sealed, and pour 4 cups of boiling water over the herbs and put the lid on the container. Allow them to steep for a few minutes for a tea or even better for 4 to 8 hours in order to obtain maximum potency. Take out the bag and use the infused liquid directly in your bathwater, in a sitz bath, or in a peri bottle or compress. The herbs in the bag can be discarded or composted and the bag can be rinsed and reused.
